Roderick Berry
Managing Director; Senior Investment Officer
Rod brings over 20 years of investment experience to his role as Senior
Investment Officer at SCM. Prior to joining SCM, Rod served as President of
Kentrix Research, a provider of third-party equity research to fund
managers. Prior to founding Kentrix, Rod served as President and portfolio
manager at AIC Asset Management, LLC (formerly Elijah Asset Management). In
this role, Rod managed the ING Technology Fund, the AIC Global Technology
Fund and the New Millennium Technology Trust on a sub-advisory basis.
Before joining AIC Asset Management in 1999, Rod served with Robertson
Stephens Investment Management (RSIM) as a Vice President and co-portfolio
manager of the Information Age Fund and the United Global Technology Fund.
Prior to joining RSIM, Rod worked for USL Capital for six years as an
investment officer and financial manager. Rod received his B.A. in
economics from Stanford University and his M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg
Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Stephen Minutoli
Managing Director
Steve is responsible for all research products and for trade execution
of restricted and freely tradable securities. Steve is responsible
for the trading & brokerage relationships including sales, trading, and
research. He is a specialist in handling all types of restricted security
transactions and an expert at dealing with all aspects of the distribution
management process, having handled over 14,000 distributions. He has 14
years of private equity and post-venture management experience. Steve
previously served as Vice President of the Venture Capital Services Group
at Deutsche Bank Securities, where he was responsible for trading and
managed sales for the Corporate and Venture Capital Services Group.
William Cargill
Senior Research Analyst
William focuses on the software, semiconductors and energy sectors. He
previously spent five years with Hoover’s, Inc., as Vice President of
Marketing and Director of Strategic Analysis. Prior to that, William was a
currency trader at Compwell Financial and a legislative assistant to
Congressman Ralph Hall. William received his B.A. in mathematics and
English from Vanderbilt University and his M.B.A. from the University of
Texas.
Ellen Concepcion
Client Relations Manager
Ellen first joined SCM in 2000, and is now responsible for client
relations. Ellen also provides coverage in trading as well as general
research, marketing assistance and analysis for distribution management.
Ellen started at the firm as an Operations Associate, working with client
custodians and brokers with trade settlement issues before accepting a
position as Equity Trader within the firm. Ellen received her B.A. in
economics from San Francisco State University.
Suzanne Gossard*
Research Analyst
Sue is the research specialist for the life sciences market sector. She
previously worked as a securities analyst with Robertson Stephens
Investment Management. Sue started her career as a securities analyst
working for the Montecito Fund, a private investment fund. She received her
B.A. in business economics from the University of California, Santa
Barbara.
